The food I had in Peru had plenty of chicken and (slightly overcooked) fish, potatoes, and plaintains. In Eccuador, there was more fresh fruit and vegetables, and a bit better prepared.

Travel home was not much fun. Every route I found while planning involved some awkward night travel, and the best I could arrange involved a 5½-hour flight from Bogotá to Dulles Airport without a lie-flat seat, a three-hour layover, and a flight to Boston, and neither Avianca nor United Airlines provided lounge access during the layover, even with business class flights.
